Water: Clear Doesn’t Always Mean Clean

Over the years I have spent time studying and learning many aspects of the water we drink and the water necessary for optimal healthy living. Water has a profound effect on every bodily function and depending on our age and health it makes up approximately 70% of our body.  If we fill our bodies with poor quality water it will definitely have an impact on our overall health.

Good quality water is one of the most important elements that our body requires to function properly and to be healthy. Unsafe, polluted, toxic water is not just a third world problem. In fact, safe drinking water is even hard to find in developed countries including the United States. According to research most tap and well water in the United States is unsafe for drinking, because of industrial and environmental pollutants and toxins.  Most sources of our drinking water; such as municipal water systems, wells, lakes, rivers, and even glaciers contain some level of contaminants. The chemicals and toxins come from pesticides used in farming, medications, hormone-therapy, man-made chemicals and by-products, and chemicals that are introduced into the water; such as chlorine and fluoride. While several contaminants are found at low levels and don’t cause immediate discomfort or sickness, many are bio-accumulative meaning that they accumulate in the body.  These toxins and chemicals can be stored throughout the body with many settling in the fat cells until they become damaging to our health. These chemicals cause issues like obesity, hormonal imbalances in men and women, liver damage, cancer, and other serious ailments.

Tap water may also contain traces of prescription drugs. An investigation by the Associated Press has revealed the presence of a vast array of pharmaceuticals in municipal drinking water including antibiotics, fat loss resistant chemicals, mood stabilizers, and sex hormones. These drugs were found in the drinking water supplies of at least 41 million Americans and in 24 major metropolitan areas – from Southern California to Northern New Jersey.

The distillation process is the best way to get an excellent source of clean water. It effectively removes the vast majority of pollutants, chemicals, and toxins. Distilled water is water vapor that has been captured and bottled, which is pure H2O.  When you add Ionic Trace Minerals to the distilled water you have a perfect drinking water that will properly hydrate your body, detoxify your system, and help you to live in optimal health.

In order to ensure the quality of water that I am drinking; I avoid drinking tap water and most bottled waters and purchase distilled water that I fortify with Ionic trace Minerals.

Ron Williams’ Training Philosophy: Introduction

I believe that God has given me an artistic gift and ability when it comes to shaping, sculpting, and building the body. There are many types of artists – sculptors, graphic artist, pencil artists, painters, conceptual artists, etc. I am like a sculptor. I look at the body as a priceless piece of clay (Genesis, 2:7-8) that can be molded and formed into whatever the artist has the talent and gifting to develop it into. Every artist has their own unique set of tools and utensils. The tools and utensils that I use to carve out every masterpiece are:

  • Understanding body types and the endocrine system
  • Using valid and effective nutritional principles
  • Applying the natural Arc Movements™ of the body and working within the joint structure
  • Being familiar with the body’s energy systems
  • Deciphering truth from myth

A good sculptor must continue to develop, refine, and sharpen his tools in order to stay on the cutting-edge of his craft. Over the years I have been privileged to work with numerous individuals and groups watching this process take place. My goal is not just to see the body change, but the whole person. The change should take place inside out —as you look better on the outside, you want to be better on the inside.

Ron Williams’ Training Philosophy: The Principles Part 1

Establish a Reliable Foundation: When we don’t have a solid reliable foundation we have nothing to stand on. Every new idea, thing, whim, or doctrine that comes along can easily sway us and potentially take us off our path of success. A good foundation needs to be established in all areas of our lives, so that we can be healthy, happy, and whole.

Throughout my career I have seen many people build great physiques and be self-centered and egotistical. Years ago I made a decision that I would not be that person who had a nice physique, but had no substance, depth, character, or concern for others.    With the foundation that I have developed – you can still be a caring, concerned, loving individual with an award winning physique. You must also establish a reliable foundation in the area of nutrition and exercise; without this it is easy to become confused, skeptical, and unstable going from one fitness and health fad to the next. Over the years I have watched individuals go from one fad to the next only to end up in a worse place. Following the next new thing is not always a good thing; for example, if you like new fashion trends there can be no real harm, because once the fad shifts you throw out the old clothing. But when it comes to your body you can’t just throw it out and get a new one when the latest fad fails; you are left with the repercussions and the damage. Since this is the only body you are going to get it is worth seeking out and building your foundation on true science concerning nutrition and exercise.

Understanding Muscle Confusion: I want to say this as simple as I can, the idea of muscle confusion for growth and development contradicts the nature of how God created the body. Muscle confusion or for the muscles to be confused does not make logical sense. Our bodies were designed to respond, adapt, progress, and survive these are the laws that govern the human body — not confusion. You send your body a signal and it will simply respond, if you happen to get the results you were looking for it’s because you sent the appropriate signal whether intentional or not. We tend to complicate things and make them harder than they really are; for example, I want my muscles to grow so I send the signals necessary for growth. I do not want my body to be confused, I want me and my body to be in agreement with my goals. Confusing the body should never be the goal, the goal should be to better understand the body and supply what it needs so that we can obtain our desired results.

If your desire is to have increased muscle size – you need to know that muscle size and the muscle strength are directly related. So, if you follow a training program that increases muscle strength and properly nourish your body you will get the increased muscle size that you desire. Genetically we have physical boundaries in our bodies, but not many of us ever reach full potential. The idea is to work towards increasing the strength of the muscle without sacrificing form — if you forfeit form this opens the door for future injury.

Ron Williams Helps Former College Track Star Get Back In The Race

-Williams’s coaching helps Cross Country athlete get in better shape then when he competed in college-

Nicholas Rawlings is a former college cross country runner and high school track and swimming athlete. In college he ran the 400 and 800 meters and was always active in athletics. After graduating college, Rawlings entered the workforce and by the time he was 30 years old he found himself out of shape and pushing 200 pounds.

“One day I looked at myself and thought, I’m 30 years old, out of regular athletic competition, working a regular full time job and am overweight,” shared Rawlings. “I knew I needed to do something to be active again and get back in shape.”

Rawlings was looking for a program or way to get active when his sister-in-law called telling him about a new program she found and wanted to try. The program was a pilot program designed by Ron Williams.

Ron Williams is one of the world’s most decorated natural bodybuilders. He is a seven time Natural Universe winner, holds seven Natural World Titles, seven Olympia titles, is the sole recipient of the Bodybuilder of the Decade, is in the bodybuilding Hall of Fame and has won more than 250 titles over his career.

Williams created the Iron Chest Master, a machine that maximizes the development of muscle size and strength while completely sculpting the upper body. As one of the country’s leading experts on exercise physiology, diet and nutrition, and fat loss, Wlliams’s brand of training has inspired and motivated hundreds of athletes and thousands of individuals to get into incredible shape — truly transforming them inside and out.

Williams uses his expertise to inspire and create a philosophy that combines being healthy physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. Williams empowers individuals to reach their personal goals. The principles that Williams uses and teaches are easy to embrace, easy to understand, and easy to apply. Williams’s desire is to equip individuals with the necessary tools to live a life of being, healthy, happy, and whole.

For more than 30 years Williams has been a Professor of Exercise Physiology and Nutrition, a personal coach, a Regional Chairman for the National Gym Association, Member of an International Nutrition Companies Medical Advisory Board, and a Master Fitness Trainer for the Army. He currently shares his expertise as a speaker and educator for college students at the Professional Fitness Institute in Las Vegas.

“Ron is someone who when I first met I gravitated towards because I could tell he cares about me and my health,” said Rawlings. “What impressed me most was his willingness to share his expertise and to let me work out with him either as a group or individually.”

Williams has devoted his life to educating, inspiring, coaching, and encouraging people. As a national motivational and inspirational speaker he has a unique connection with his audience that stems from his own personal journey of physical and spiritual transformation.

One of the first things Williams does is teach people about proper nutrition and the ways the human body reacts to food. The human body is driven by signals you send it. The food you eat sends specific signals to the body and the body reacts accordingly. If you send it the right signals you can increase the body’s effectiveness and ability to burn and eliminate fat.

“The first 21 days of Ron’s program he has us on an eating program,” explains Rawlings. “One of the most important things he taught me is that 70 percent of weight loss and healthy living is associated with how I eat. He taught me that it’s not about counting calories but rather fueling the body’s natural fire to help it grow.”

Williams emphasizes a program that stresses eating the right foods at regular intervals to ensure that you’re never hungry. By eating the right foods an combining regular exercise you send the right signals to your body to help it run at maximum efficiency.

“With Ron’s program I was never hungry and never felt like I was going without,” says Rawlings. “In just eight weeks I lost 26 pounds and feel like I’ve never been in better shape, even when I was running cross country in college.”

Williams’s goal in training is to help his students learn and make a lifestyle change that will help individuals lead physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally healthy, happy lives.

“Prior to working with Ron I tried other programs but never had the success I’ve had with Ron,” concluded Rawlings. “Ron is the difference maker. He helped me believe in myself and taught me the right way to eat and exercise to make my body work at it’s highest capacity. Since that initial pilot program, I’ve continued training with Ron and have now become a certified trainer and am sharing what Ron taught me with others to help them become healthier and happier.”

Ron Williams’ Training Philosophy: The Principles Part 2

Send Proper Signals: Your body only responds to what you do on a consistent basis – physically, mentally, and spiritually. So, the first step in being successful in your health and fitness goals is to predetermine the results that you desire and then send the appropriate signals necessary to achieve those results. Here are a couple of examples:

Distance Runner – If the desire is to run a half marathon, you start by running 1 mile a day for 2 weeks and then gradually increase until you are running 10 miles daily. After running 10 intense miles you eat 40 -60 grams of high glycemic carbohydrates without ingesting fat or protein. The body adapts to the activity by increasing its ability to run harder and longer and it takes the sugar and stores it so when you run intensely again you will have the short term stored energy to accommodate the energy expenditure. You will not have the need to draw an excessive amount of energy from converting muscle into energy and it decreases the body’s need to use as much fat (which takes more time and effort to convert into useable energy). Your body will get leaner because a lot of the food you are eating is being stored as Glycogen (sugar stored in the muscle)and your metabolism will naturally speed up because of the activity. The signal being sent is that I want to run faster, harder, and longer so the body needs to be leaner and have a greater glycogen capacity. By eating a certain way, applying the appropriate exercise, and taking beneficial supplements your body will respond to the signals you have sent and you will achieve your desired goals. .

Fat loss – I have researched excess body fat for more than 25 years and I have found more than 75 signals to help you lose body fat and if you reverse these same signals they will cause you to pack on excess body fat like crazy. In the example above concerning distance running, we demonstrated the signal of how eating 40-60 grams of carbohydrates without ingesting protein or an essential fatty acid helps you to reach your desired goals. If we reverse this signal and apply it to a person who hates to run and exercises very little, but they love carbohydrates and let’s say they eat 40-60 grams of carbohydrates what happens here is the carbohydrates eaten spikes the blood sugar level. This spike in blood sugar causes the pancreas to secrete excessive amounts of insulin and insulin is a fat storing hormone.

Competitive HEALTHY Natural Bodybuilding – Below I have outlined13 principles used by a natural bodybuilder, which includes both fitness and fat loss signals. Although fat loss is achieved, less than 1% of the population desires to follow this strenuous of a program. The bodybuilder’s regimen is done to prepare for a competition, not for a permanent lifestyle. When the competition is over, the athlete’s body fat will increase. A fitness oriented program has short-term results, compared to a fat loss program which is a lifestyle:

  • 20-30 Minutes of Consistent Cardio (Fat Loss Signal)
  • Glycogen Storage Cardio (Fitness Signal)
  • Glycogen Replacement Meal (Fitness Signal)
  • Never Eat a Carbohydrate by Itself (Fat Loss Signal)
  • Eat 5 to 6 Meals per Day (Fat Loss Signal)
  • Drink a Minimum of 64 oz. of Distilled Water Fortified with Trace Minerals Daily (Fat Loss Signal)
  • Ron Williams Focal Point Training (Fitness Signal)
  • Ron Williams IsoDynamic Fat Loss Training (Fat Loss Signal)
  • Eat Carbohydrates in Proper Order (Fat Loss Signal)
  • Resistance Training for Muscle Mass (Fitness Signal)
  • Chromium Supplementation (Fat Loss Signal)
  • Intense Leg Track Training (Fitness Signal)
  • Heavy Squat Training (Fitness Signal)

Discover the Root of the Problem: We have roots in our lives that are good and we have roots that are not so good. The root represents the cause, the foundation, or the life source of every circumstance. It is the lifeline of what is actually seen. In order to alleviate what is seen we need to destroy and replace some of the roots in our lives; just like with the dandelions in our yards.

The dandelion is a tough weed. This is a flower that once it seeds, if left alone, will eventually consume the yard. When we make a decision on how to destroy the dandelion, if we don’t understand its nature, the only thing we can resort to is our own common sense, which says mow the lawn or cut the flower, but the problem is that this is only a temporary solution. What we are really doing when we cut the flower is dealing with what can be seen on the surface. And what can be seen is only evidence that there is something deeper. The flower is connected to the root system of the plant and until the root is destroyed the flower will keep coming back. Once the root is destroyed the flower simply dies.

When it comes to losing excess body fat many of us resort to the latest fad diet. We deal with what can be seen, which is the excess body fat. So we do what we have been taught which is to cut calories and exercise, but this is only a surface solution. The excess fat is what can be seen (or the surface) and is only evidence that there is something deeper. In order to be successful we must do exactly what is done with the dandelion which is going to the root and destroying it.

By not dealing with the root of the problem all of our dieting efforts usually end in failure. If we continue to deal with the symptom, which is the excess body fat, it will keep coming back. Each time we lose body fat, without discovering the root and destroying it, our metabolism suffers. This makes fat loss that much more difficult the next time.

Dandelions and excess body fat have the following similarities:

  • If the root is not destroyed both the dandelion and the body fat will return.
  • Each time we deal with what we see (the flower or the excess body fat) and not “the root,” when it comes back it’s tougher and harder to destroy.
  • If not effectively addressed they will increase in size and number.
  • In order to overcome excess body fat and the dandelion you must have appropriate knowledge.
  • Dealing with the surface brings a short-term sense of security, because you will think the problem is gone when it’s actually still there and will soon resurface.

In order to develop an effective solution for any problem we must first discover its origin or “the root.”

7 Forbidden Acts of Resistance Training

7 Forbidden Acts of Resistance Training: The following 7 rules are a permanent part of my training regimen. These are forbidden acts of training:

  • Training without warming up
  • Ballistic movements
  • Forced reps
  • Negative reps
  • Partial reps – it is important to always get a full range of motion
  • Improper form and technique — always maintain good controlled form
  • Ending a session without cooling down and stretching

If when working out you do any of the above you are leaving the muscles in a vulnerable state and they are more susceptible to injury. Follow these 7 things and 70 to 90% of all injuries will be avoided.
